Integrator Simac ICT Belgium has recently been awarded the label IoT Certified Partner by Cisco. Simac is the first Belgian company to receive this certification. This recognition is a confirmation of Simac’s innovation and strength in the field of new technologies.
Cisco introduced the new IoT Certified Partner program in February. With this program, Cisco seeks to provide its customers with the assurance they deserve that they have a partner who possesses experience in the field of IoT in general and knows the IoT-products from Cisco through and through.
"This recognition is proof that we are heading in the right direction with our IoT-strategy," says Johan Diels, Director of Simac ICT Belgium. "IoT is certainly not a new domain for us. We have already gained experience with both governments and businesses, both in Belgium and abroad." Simac is one of the most important partners in the 'Smart City' story of the Czech capital Prague. There Simac implemented the platform Cisco Kinetics for Cities, which collects several data streams in a single place, in order to prevent various data-silos from evolving next to each other. Simac is also involved in a number of IoT-pilot projects within Flanders. In the business world, a project is currently running at Volvo Cars Gent, where Simac works in collaboration with the Ghent-based start-up Sensolus, devising an IoT application that allows cars to be finished and shipped to dealers faster.
“Simac has long been a trusted partner of Cisco,” says Arnaud Spirlet, Managing Director at Cisco BeLux. "We work very well together in the areas of networking, collaboration and security. We are not at all surprised that they are now also IoT Certified. Simac is a partner with whom both Cisco and our customers can build long-term relationships. This year we expect the big breakthrough of IoT, and we want our partners to be ready for the demand in the market."
To obtain the Cisco IoT certification, a number of Simac engineers followed the IoT Specialist training.
