Simac publishes white paper on Data Center Infrastructure Management

Simac Cabling & Infrastructure, a division of Simac ICT Belgium, has published a white paper for guiding data center managers in the world of Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM). This white paper confirms Simac’s position as a highly regarded independent player in the market of data center organization and management.

‘Getting to know your data center inside out – Making the most of DCIM’ stands as an introduction to DCIM. It is a welcome introduction for newcomers to the subject, while for decision makers already familiar with the basics, Simac’s white paper will refresh their knowledge and offer new insights.

The white paper is organized in four chapters and focuses on the important role DCIM plays in raising efficiency and reducing cost in a data center. DCIM also makes it easier to rapidly support new applications and conform to changing business requirements. DCIM software manages and documents the physical infrastructure of a data center and forms the bridge between IT and Facility Management (energy, cooling, floorspace). It also allows for the automation of tasks that previously required manual intervention.

“The data center is the ultimate business-critical enabler for any company,” says Andy Vanbrabant, director of Simac Cabling & Infrastructure. Simac offers years of experience in organizing and managing data centers for both private companies and public institutions. The company has established partnerships with A-brands such as Commscope, Corning, Legrand DCS, Nexans, Nlyte, Panduit, R&M and Schneider Electric. “We prefer partnering with several brands to allow our customers freedom of choice,” he continues. “By retaining vendor independence, we can guarantee delivering the solution that best meets the needs of our customers. In doing so, we cover all possible needs in Data Center Infrastructure Management.”
