Thinking of the future

Below is the content of a letter sent to customers of Simac ICT Belgium on April 28, 2020:

Dear valued customers,

We hope this message finds you and your loved ones in good health. These are challenging times for our families, our businesses, our society. It is heartwarming to see how many people are living up to the strict regulations imposed and we are sure that the connections that underpin our society will only be strengthened by this test of character. We have witnessed a lot of solidarity between friends, employees and organizations. To us, that’s ‘Teamnology’ at work. Thank you for the great contacts we had during these testing times.

As Winston Churchill famously said, we should “Never let a good crisis go to waste.” While the COVID-19 situation is a global disaster, it will also serve as a catalyst for change and an accelerator of evolutions that were happening anyway. We have all had busy times, taking measures to protect our people and our business. Now that we are getting used to our new routines, perhaps the time has come to reflect and see how we can make our companies more robust and agile, to cope with new challenges that may lie ahead.

Research from McKinsey on the repercussions of the 2008 financial crisis shows that 13% of enterprises fared better post-crisis. Why? They were prepared, had to optimize, built a solid infrastructure, were more agile and had seen the next wave coming. There is always a next wave coming, so companies should prepare.

Before long, most companies will restart their business, consumers will start shopping again, rebooting our supply chains. With this letter, we want to invite you to think together on how we can accelerate the transformation in your organizations. Each of our divisions has specific offerings that can help you revamp collaboration and security, strengthen your infrastructure, boost the performance of applications and infrastructure and provide you with the talent to ensure you are prepared for the future. We both have new experiences and ideas, let’s connect and share these ideas and see where Simac ICT Belgium can provide you with useful insights.

Beside this open invitation to connect, we also have some concrete questions:

  • If we currently have common projects on hold, what is your vision on how they will proceed?
  • If we have people working for you remotely, how do you see their restart on-site?
  • Because of the current crisis, processes and ICT environments may have changed at your sites, do these affect the way our people work at your premises?
  • As priorities may have shifted, it would be good for us to know about your top concerns so we can adjust our services.
  • Please let us know who is in charge of your restart, so we can coordinate.

We have a long history with most of our customers and we have built a long-term partnership with you. We look forward to continuing that bond in the months to come.

Take care of yourself and your loved ones during this time, and always!

Kind regards,

Patrick Bontinckx

CEO Simac ICT Belgium
